Finding Your Spiritual Care Practicum Site/Clinical Placement
The student is responsible for securing their own Spiritual Care Practicum Site/clinical placement site, and this requires a signed Spiritual Care Practicum Site/Clinical Placement Agreement from both a preceptor—a recognized professional at the placement site—and an administrative representative.

Students are required to have identified and secured:

Spiritual Care Practicum Site/Clinical Placement Site

Preceptor (MUST be a different person than the Administrative Representative)

Administrative Representative (MUST be a different person than the Preceptor)

A preceptor is a contextually relevant professional practicing in and recognized by the clinical placement site and the ACPE Certified Educator.
Recognition for this role requires one or more of the following:
✔️ professional licensing, professional certification/authority to function in their role
✔️ an advanced degree in their field of expertise
✔️ faith group endorsement/local equivalent process
Examples of Spiritual Care Practicum Placemnet Site/Clinical placement sites could be:

Healthcare: Hospitals, hospices, palliative care, etc.

Community Organizations: Congregations, shelters, nonprofits, etc.

Specialized Ministries: Schools, mental health, military chaplaincy, disaster relief, etc.
